We asked the Georgia Department of Corrections for the current count of people at each facility by security classification (minimum, medium, close), and which facilities hold close-security people.

GDC ran its Security Count Report for each facility: 74 one-page reports, each giving Minimum, Medium, Close, No Security Classification and the facility total.

Preferred format: Excel spreadsheet or CSV file.”

## What happened

- 2025-10-19: Request filed through GDC's Open Records Center; GDC acknowledged it the same day.
- 2025-10-21: GDC estimated the cost at about $112.50: three hours at $37.50, the hourly rate of the lowest-paid employee who can do the work.
- 2025-10-21: We agreed to pay.
- 2025-10-27: GDC uploaded the reports to the portal.
- 2025-12-17: GDC confirmed our payment of $112.50.
