# ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FOR CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEES CHANGING TO AN UNCLASSIFIED POSITION
I understand that while occupying a classified position, I am entitled to certain procedural rights set
forth in O.C.G.A. 45-20-8 and 45-20-9. I understand that an employee who occupies a classified
position prior to July 1, 1996 shall remain in the classified service so long as such employee
occupies a classified position or as otherwise provided by law.
I hereby acknowledge that I have accepted a position with the Georgia Department of Corrections
that is not included in the classified service. I understand that, in this unclassified position, the
Department reserves and retains the right to make changes in the terms and conditions of my
employment as an unclassified employee as deemed necessary or appropriate, to ensure the
effective and efficient operation of the Department and its public mission.
