DEFINITIONS:\n\n   Orientation: The process which an overview of rules,\n   regulations and safety policies and procedures are presented\n   and reviewed, along with explanation of benefits of OJT\n   program participation.\n\nV. ATTACHMENTS:\n\n   None\n\nVI. PROCEDURE:\n\n   A. Production Manager or his designee will provide\n      orientation material and general information to all newly\n      assigned inmates. Production Managers will maintain a written procedure for\n   orientation of all new inmates working for Correctional\n   Industries.\n\n   1. Orientation will include: Employment conditions,\n      safety and operating instructions for equipment,\n      hours of work, special rules and regulations,\n      personnel policies, OJT and other training programs.\n\n   2. Orientation will include all inmates employed with\n      Correctional Industries.\n\n   3. No inmate will begin work without first completing\n      the Safety and Orientation Program.\n\n   4. The Production Manager will ensure that a written\n      receipt is signed by the inmate as acknowledgement\n      for information received.\n\nC. The Production Manager, jointly with the Division\n   Manager, will conduct periodic review of orientation\n   program and revise as needed.\n\nD. GCI maintains a number of on-the-job training (OJT)\n   programs accredited by local technical schools and\n   community colleges. Production Managers are responsible\n   for enrolling, monitoring, grading and files associated\n   with the OJT program.\n\n```",
