Sufficient training shall be scheduled each calendar year to allow Firefighters to maintain their firefighter certifications. II. APPLICABILITY: All Department of Corrections certified Firefighters in State and County Fire Departments. III. RELATED DIRECTIVES: NFPA 1403, 1404, 1410 and 1001 IV. DEFINITIONS: NONE V. Each Firefighter shall be responsible for maintaining his/her fire and EMS skills at levels sufficient to retain the certifications required to meet the established minimum standards of performance. 2. Station Chiefs shall ensure that all Firefighters under their command maintain their certifications and skill levels. The Fire Chief shall also be responsible for maintaining his/her station’s certification and skill at a level sufficient to meet the established minimum standards of performance. ```
