Georgia release last meal request for man set to be executed in …

BUTTS COUNTY, Ga. — The Georgia Department of Corrections has released the last meal request of a man set to be put to death next week.
The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) announced 52-year-old Stacey Humphreys last meal request, who is scheduled to be executed in Butts County on Wednesday, Dec. 17, by lethal injection.
Humphreys was found guilty of murdering two women, Cyndi Williams, 33, and Lori Brown, 21, in 2003. The two were shot and killed in a real estate office in an Atlanta suburb where they both worked.
Our sister station, WXIA, previously reported that Humphrey’s was found guilty in 2007 on two charges of murder. They also noted that Humphreys will be the first, and likely only, inmate executed in 2025.
On Wednesday, the Associated Press reported that a federal judge declined to halt Humphreys’ execution. They reported U.S. District Court Judge Leigh Martin May listened to arguments in Atlanta, but ruled that Humphreys failed to show that his rights to due process and equal protection would be violated by executing him now.
According to the GDC’s release, Humphreys will be the 77th man and 78th person executed in Georgia since the U.S. Supreme Court reinstated the death penalty in 1976.
They added that Humphreys will be the 55th inmate put to death by lethal injection. He’s set to be executed at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson, Georgia.
The GDC reported that Humphrey requested a last meal of the following:
– barbecue beef brisket
– pork ribs
– bacon double cheeseburger
– French fries
– cole slaw
– cornbread
– buffalo wings
– meat lovers pan pizza
– vanilla ice cream
– two lemon-lime sodas
The GDC said 32 men and one woman are currently under a death sentence in Georgia.
