Georgia Prisoners’ Speak publishes the record, not a grade. Every line below is a roll-call vote or a bill filing you can verify against the General Assembly’s own records.

Bills Sponsored

GPS-tracked reform bills this legislator put their name on. Most post-conviction bills die in committee without a recorded vote, so sponsorship is often the only public evidence of where a legislator actually stood.

Ms Harell,I agree with you that our prison system needs to be revamped. The Governor has a task force that is to make recommendations to committees in the House and Senate. To be blunt unless the Governor is behind this, it's will not happen. Now that we are to have a new Governor in 2027, I cannot tell you the posture of that office at this time. Remember, no matter how the House and Senate vote the Governor has veto powers and this is a very delicate issue. Tje candidates - as I know, Ms Bottoms wants to defend law enforcement and I have no idea her stance on prisons. Mr. Jackson seems very willing to make positive changes. As for now when the committees make recommendations the law makers usually follow. Time frame at this point for that, I do not know. All the best, Carden Summers
